Our team began by installing two heavy-duty step-down transformers to convert the building’s 480V service to 208V, which is ideal for supporting EV chargers safely and efficiently. This foundational infrastructure ensures consistent power delivery across multiple levels of the parking garage.
From there, we installed two new electrical panels, routed cleanly from the main electrical room, to serve the 2nd and 3rd floor parking areas. These panels now supply power to a total of 36 dedicated EV charging circuits, each strategically run to assigned parking stalls for resident convenience.
Navigating Structural and Technical Challenges with Precision
Because the high-rise structure was already completed, we took great care to plan and execute all work with minimal disruption to the building and its residents. This included core drilling through concrete to reach the 2nd-floor garage level, followed by expertly mounting conduit and panels that blended seamlessly with the building’s high-end aesthetic.
By maintaining full control over the engineering and permitting process, we were able to move efficiently through regulatory requirements. Our in-house team developed and submitted detailed electrical engineering plans to the City of San Diego, managed all permit applications, and ensured compliance with the latest codes and safety standards.

Although 36 EV chargers were installed as part of this initial phase, the system is designed to accommodate up to 36 active charging ports simultaneously, with room to expand as demand increases.
